Larry's next stop was the Mandala Mission, a towering structure made entirely of shimmering crystal. It was said that the light from the sun would refract in such a way as to create an ethereal and breathtaking display.
As Larry approached the cathedral, he was struck by its sheer beauty. The crystal walls glinted and shimmered, casting rainbows of light in every direction. It was like nothing he had ever seen before
As Larry continued to explore the wander of the Mission, he came across a large stone plaque detailing the area's history.
As the ledgend goes,
An ancient Gek monarch, the great King Geckilli, having suffered the loss of his beloved, Queen Iakos-Mayl, commissioned one of the galaxy's greatest Master Architects, Mr_Phishead, to erect the grandest of all mausolems, along with several memorials, to honor his late wife.
Tragically, the Queen died while giving birth to their 42nd child, young Princess Zevia-Mayl, sending King Geckilli into a deep dispair. He felt all too keenly the abscence she left behind.
Knowing of her deep fascination for mandalas and kaleidoscopes, King Geckilli commissioned a grand mausoleum, with as wide an array of kaleidoscopes as the universe had ever seen. The Master Architect,Mr_Phishead, embarked on a mission to create the grandest display imaginable, incorporating as many of the treasured kalidescopes as possible into the work.
The result was astonishing and, upon first sight, left the King in tears of joy. Over the course of many years, King Geckilli continued to add to the mouments and commissioned four more kaleidoscopic monuments to be distributed throughout the Yamuna System.
Each year, on the Queens day of birth, the king commanded that the site be opened to the public in celebration of the love he held for his Queen.
The Yamuna Mandala star system has become the most popular travel destination across the sector of the Euclid galaxy, counting itself among the top places to visit according to the Euclid Historic Places List and was s highlight destination waypoint along the Distant World Tours Grand Tour of the galaxy.
Larry spent hours exploring every building, pouring over the wonderous interiors, marveling at the intricate details and delicate designs. Each monument was of art more grand than the last. He felt grateful to be able to witness its beauty.
Meet the Builder

Hello, I‘m Rich Schmitt aka mr_phishead aka bionichert70. No Man’s Sky is my all time favorite game and is pretty much all I play these days. I am an avid base builder and have built hundreds of bases over the years. I have about one hundred bases (and counting) that still can be visited. I’ve been lucky enough to have had 3 of my bases chosen to be featured in the Space Anomaly Community Highlight’s over the years. Also Sean Murray tweeted a screenshot of another base of mine which still humbles me. I like to make up lore for most of my builds and try to tie them into the game's lore. Though NMS I’ve made many awesome new friends and love the community.
Happy Building and Safe Travels!
