What drew you to play No Man's Sky initially?
I bought the ps4 to play the game because I thought the idea of traveling into space sounded amazing before rediscovering the game later on and the amazing glitch building techniques
Now that you're an experienced NMS player, what do you think of the game?
I am completely in love with this game because of how it keeps surprising me and how glitch building is revealing the true infinite of the game . I think it's an infinite adventure and a forever learning secrets and techniques from others . Compare to a regular FPS multiplayer is based on exchange witch is awesome.
So, decades ago I was already primed to be HG’s target audience—my appetite for something like NMS is nearly limitless. I started playing in earnest about 2–3 months before all the drastic Covid lockdowns began; rather than slowly broil in existential dread, I seized on NMS as a welcome distraction that kept me sane.
How did you become interested in base building?
I started building after coming back into the game and finding a community where I used to build castles and little by little I started to learn from different players.
What is it about building bases that you enjoy most?
The mind escape that it can be ... I never build well if I am not relax and concentrated. I love how it get's me into the game and creates a link with my avatar.
How would you describe your design aesthetic?
abstract, psychedelic sometimes and colorfull.
Where do you find your design inspirations?
From games that I played... inspiration from rpg and scifi ... from art and geometry also ...and of course from other builders.
Do you usually have a clear picture of what you're going to build before you start?
Not always ... depends on what I build.
How do you choose locations for your builds?
Depending on what I build or because the location is unique in a way
Tell us a little about your thought process when you begin a build.
I would try to find different hot spots usually just in case I'd like to had ressources to the base. Then I'll usually start to picture a form to place the first scafolding and from there I let my imagination go. I try to think of all the different techniques that could help me . Usually most of my builds are just new exercises. Unless I really know what I want to build.
How do these techniques and tools fit into your process?
It helps me to place any part anywhere and in any direction to find new designs.
What are the pros and cons you encounter by using these techniques and tools?
Very annoying missing glitches when you know you have 100 more times to do the same one lol... but I guess that's what's rewarding at the end...
What do you find most challenging about building in NMS?
Being able to reproduce exactly what you have in mind and imagining new designs and decoration or techniques
How do you deal with a design that just isn't working?
I'll find an other way around
Has there been any specific design type or style you've not found a way to create?
Gothic style or very realistic scifi ships
How would you recommend someone new to NMS begin learning to build?
I'll just explain that to me it has been like a revelation, that the core of the game was for me glitchbuild that it's like being a jedi you enter in a all new world and you master the force.lol
What additional advice would you give to new Builders?
Take your time. it's a long process be patient and keep on building new stuffs
Any closing thoughts?
